Lifescape is a small company, based in North Oxfordshire, run by Steve Thorp, an experienced counsellor and consultant particularly experienced working with workplace and worklife issues. Steve has worked for the past 12 years on programmes supporting employees in a range of workplace settings.
Through his work with individuals and teams, Steve aims to help people make sense of themselves, their relationships and the organisations they work in. He is particularly interested in how we tap our creativity and imagination and how this feeds into our passion and engagement with our work.
Over the last 25 years, Steve has worked as a teacher, counsellor, trainer, writer and as an organisational and community leader. Over the last decade he developed a national profile in the area of employee health, wellbeing and development and has led a number of innovative programmes in local and national organisations. He was responsible for setting up and implementing a number of support services and commercial programmes, which areused by tens of thousands of employees nationally in the education sector.
Recent clients range from large secondary schools to national commercial and voluntary sector organisations. He is currently providing training and consultancy work to Cranfield University, and piloting a supervision programme with a major professional assocation in the education sector.
Steve has a diploma in counselling from Oxford Brookes University (1997) and is currently working on his MSc dissertation in Integrative Psychotherapy. He currently supports individuals and couples in a number of settings including a small private practice, a national online coaching service and with Relate in Banbury. He has written, edited and contributed to a range of publications over the years including Working for Wellbeing - a practical handbook on workplace health and wellbeing published in 2002.
